How Chemistry teaches you to succeed faster
Let me make it simple for you by comparing two types of reactions that we study in Chemistry – a zero order and a first order reaction. A zero-order reaction has a predefined speed, and this speed remains fixed even if you increase or decrease the amount of the reactant taken. On the other hand, a first order reaction occurs faster if the amount of the reactant is increased. Now if I ask you to choose the one that will get completed first, you might think that the first order reaction will. But surprisingly, it is the zero-order reaction that reaches the finish line first! In fact, the first order reaction NEVER GETS COMPLETED! Because the reactant keeps getting consumed and decreased with the passage of time to convert itself into a product, the first order reaction keeps slowing down no matter how fast it was in the beginning. And there comes a point where it gets too slow and almost stops BEFORE completion.
So, what do we make out of this geeky talk? Well, we all generally move like a first order reaction. We keep worrying frequently about how much money we have or how many followers and likes we’ve got, etc. and finally start dwelling on our mistakes in the past. Here I am not asking you to stop looking at such stuff but to stop worrying to an extent where you unknowingly slow yourself down. Ever since I turned myself into zero order, I’ve been happier and optimistic even in the worst of times. I mean I still look at my bank balance once in a while but only to plan further and this doesn’t affect my speed irrespective of whether I’m good to go or broke as hell. And I wish the same kind of speed and happiness for you as well. And if you too wish the same then I implore you to try and build a highly personal mental mechanism for yourself that makes you zero order.
If I get a chance, I would love to bring out to you how I did it for myself. Just let me know in the comments if you wish to know and if you are shy to make a comment then please feel free to reach out personally via social media, email or WhatsApp. Thank you for reading till the end, you've been very kind. Take care. Good luck.
